AYURVEDA TOOLBOX: Boost Hair Health with this Stress Relieving Ayurvedic Scalp Massage 〰️ Shiro Abhyanga

SELF-CARE FOR HAIR:
MAKE SCALP MASSAGE A WEEKLY RITUAL

Ayurvedic scalp massage, known in the tradition as Shiro Abhyanga or "Champi," is an amazing self-care practice to add to your rituals. Not only can it protect and restore the health of distressed hair but it also has incredible benefits for overall well-being. Shiro Abhyanga or scalp massage with oils is incredible for releasing both mental and muscular tension and anxiety. It relieves stress, eye strain and headaches as well as increases blood flow and circulation to the hair follicle, encouraging the healthy growth of hair. Ayurvedic scalp massage paired with a deep breathing practice is great for releasing the grip of the jaw and relaxing the mind before bed. Gentle scalp massage can help with insomnia as it calms the chattering mind (chitta-vritti) and induces sleep via production of serotonin and melatonin.
